Summer Camp FAQ

Who can attend Magnolia Summer Camps?

Our camps are open to children ages 3–14. Students do not need to be enrolled at The Magnolia School during the academic year to attend.

What is the difference between half-day and full-day enrollment?

Elementary and middle school students follow the schedule below:

  • Half-Day (8:00 AM –12:00 PM) includes AM Academic Adventures

  • Half-Day (12:00–3:30 PM) includes specialty subject enrichment camps only

  • Full-Day (8:00 AM–3:30 PM) combines AM Academic Adventures with afternoon specialty camps

Please see the section on Preschool Camps for details on their schedules.

What are Academic Adventure Mornings?

Elementary and middle school students enrolled in the mornings have AM Academic Adventures (8:00 AM–12:00 PM). These mornings focus on strengthening essential skills in reading, writing, math, and critical thinking to support success in the upcoming school year. We will contact you to coordinate placement and discuss any tutoring options you may wish to add.

When do specialty subject camps take place?

For elementary and middle school students, all specialty subject camps are offered during the afternoon session (12:00–3:30 PM). This includes all theater and performance-based specialty camps.

Preschool students enjoy themed Spanish-Immersion camps where lessons and fun are had throughout the day! Theater and performance-based camps are an option for preschoolers and take place in the AM (8 AM-12 PM). More information can be found below.

Can my child attend multiple weeks?

Yes! Many sessions repeat, allowing families to enroll in back-to-back weeks or choose different themes throughout the summer.

What is the service fee in my cart?

This is the credit card processing fee.

I have multiple children to sign up. Can I sign them all up at once?

To collect each child's specific information (DOB, grade, etc), it is best to sign up each child for camps separately; however, we understand this is not ideal. If you sign up multiple children at once, please email admissions@themagnoliaschoolatx.com so we can gather all needed information.

Is there a discount code?

Use the code SUMMERFUN to receive 10% off multiple sessions ($2300 or more). Register by March 30 and receive a 5% discount with the code EARLYREG. Codes cannot be stacked.

Preschool Spanish Immersion (Ages 3–5)

Does my child need prior Spanish experience?

No. Our preschool camps are designed for beginners and early learners. Spanish is introduced naturally through play, songs, and routine.

Is Spanish spoken all day?

Yes. Spanish is used throughout camp in a supportive, age-appropriate way with visual cues and repetition.

Should I choose half-day or full-day for my preschooler?

Half-day is a great option for first-time campers or younger children. Full-day campers will eat lunch, rest, and participate in extended activities. This option is best for children who are ready for a longer day.

I’m interested in a theater camp for my preschooler, but want a full-day option. Could you explain how that works?

Choose the theater camp and register for the full-day option. Your child will participate in the selected theater camp during the morning (please note that theater camps are not Spanish immersion). In the afternoon, they will join the weekly themed Spanish Immersion camp.

Enrollment & Logistics

Are camps open to non-Magnolia families?

Yes — all summer camps are open to the community.

What should my child bring?

Campers should bring:

  • A labeled water bottle

  • Lunch (for full-day campers)

  • One or two snacks

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Any required forms or materials noted during registration

(Detailed information will be sent after enrollment.)

Is Magnolia a nut-free school in the summer?

Yes! Please make sure all lunches and snacks are nut-free.

Are spots limited?

Yes. We maintain small group sizes to ensure personalized attention. We recommend registering early, as camps may fill quickly.

Are there any afternoon-only options?

Yes. Specialty camps are available as afternoon-only enrollment. Spanish-immersion preschool camps incorporate the theme throughout the day.

Is there an extended-day option?

Yes, you can sign up for extended care services from 3:30-5:30 PM for an extra $100 per week.
