OUR PRESCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
Play, structure and encouragement
At Magnolia Preschool, we believe the perfect balance of play, structure, and early academic skills builds more than knowledge - it builds a child who loves learning. We don't believe in rushing the bloom. Every child develops on their own timeline and our job is to create the right conditions for each one to thrive.
Our preschool is proudly screen-free. In place of devices, children connect with the world through hands-on exploration, imaginative play and the kind of meaningful relationships that shape who they become.
Positive reinforcement, not fear
Grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis, our approach builds confidence through encouragement. Children learn best when they feel safe and celebrated.
Parntership with your family
Flexible scheduling, daily feedback, and an open-door policy mean you're never out of the loop. We see ourselves as an extension of your family.
The schedule that works for you
Life with a preschooler is beautifully unpredictable. That's why we build flexible schedules that can work with your family. Drop off when you're ready. Pick up when it works.
WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN
A whole-child
curriculum
We nurture the whole child - not just the student. Our preschool curriculum weaves academics, creativity, character and social-emotional growth into every single day.

Early Literacy
Letter recognition, phonics, pre-reading skills, and a deep love of story - all developed through read-alouds, hands-on activities, and the joy of language. We use a research-backed curriculum called Language for Learning and Phonemic Awareness.

Science & Discovery
Young scientists observe, question, experiment, and discover. From the classroom garden to sensory tables and nature walks, science at Magnolia is alive.

Social-Emotional Learning
Friendship, empathy, self-regulation, kindness and citizenship are taught intentionally alongside academics.
Spring 2026: Weekly SEL group classes will be provided to all preschoolers.

Foundational Math
Numbers, counting, patterns, shapes and early problem-solving - taught through play, manipulatives and discovery. This is supported by Distar Math, another research-based curriculum

Art, Music & Creativity
Painting, drawing, music, movement and imaginative play are woven into every week. Creative expression builds confidence, language, and problem-solving skills that children carry for life.

Independence & Responsibility
From cleaning up after play to participating in group activities, we guide children to own their routines from day one. Self-sufficiency, pride in their work, and the joy of "I did it!" are part of every afternoon.
SCHEDULE
A day in the life of a Magnolia preschooler
Every day at Mangolia is structured enough to feel safe and flexible enough to feel joyful. Here's what a typical day looks like - though every child's experience is beautifully their own.
7:45-8:30
Arrival & Morning Welcome
Flexible drop-off begins at 8 AM. Children settle in, greet teachers, and ease into the day with morning activities and free exploration.
8:30-9:15
Morning Circle & Snack
Calendar, weather, morning message, songs and community sharing. Children develop language, listening and belonging right from the start of the day.
9-9:35
Electives
Each week, preschoolers will engage in instructional enrichment with our talented team, including physical education, acting, movement, and creative arts.
9:40-10:30
Curriculum & Centers
Small-group instruction, phonics games, reading alouds, and early writing - each child working at their individual level with 1:1 teacher attention built in.
10:30-11
Outdoor Recess & Movement
Unstructured play on our preschool playground - the social and physical development that happens here is just as important as any academic lessons.
11:10-11:55
Lunch & Recess
Brought from home or from our hot lunch program. Students are guided to set up and clean up after themselves - independence in action.
12-1:50
Rest & Story Time
We cater the day to the kind of rest each child needs. For our nappers, we offer a quiet space with cots, while our non-nappers enjoy a rest and story time.
1:50-2:45
Curriculum & Centers
Hands-on math activities, manipulatives, science exploration and STEM play - making numbers and patterns feel like a puzzle worth solving.
2:45-3
Closing Circle & Clean Up
Students help prepare the classroom for the next day and pack up their bags for pickup.
3-3:10
Kind Of Day
Students review their day and accomplishments as a class celebrating the wins and deciding how they can make better decisions for the next day.
Flexible scheduling available. We're open M-F from 8 AM - 3:30 PM, with aftercare available from 3:30-5:30 PM for an additional fee. We partner with families to create a schedule that works for you - which can include Full-Time and Part-Time enrollment.
