Our School

At the Magnolia School, our goal is to inspire a lifetime love of learning in every child.

As a private school we can focus on the right methodology for your child,

instead of teaching a general plan to a large group of children.

Individual Assessments

We assess each student as an individual, and teach based on their level of proficiency - not by their age, grade, or standardized test scores. We work toward fluency in each subject through positive reinforcement.

Our 16:2 student to teacher ratio allows each student to get individual attention while also gaining confidence working in small groups of like-minded peers.

At the end of each school day, every child gets a Daily Support Card that tracks their progress.

Daily Support Cards

Magnolia School utilizes Daily Support Cards. The student’s progress is tracked and reviewed methodically, and daily “support cards” provide written feedback and encouragement from their teacher. Support Cards come home every day to ensure parents are involved in their child's education by staying in constant communication with their child's teachers.

Our educators are caring, attentive and diligently seeking new and exciting teaching techniques to inspire and motivate your child.

The Magnolia Difference

We've listed a few ways that our private school is different from a traditional, public school.

Our Classes

The best way to truly get a sense of our teaching approach and the atmosphere of our classrooms is to see them in action. We encourage you to schedule a tour and experience the Magnolia School Difference for yourself.

Pre-School

PRE-SCHOOL

Pre-school Highlights

  • Ages 3-5

  • Convenient schedule choices (15, 25 or 25+ hours/week)

  • 2 teachers for every 15 students

  • Screen-free environment

The Magnolia School pre-school is the perfect balance of play, structured activities, and prepared academics.

Our students spend one-on-one time with their teacher, learn in small groups, and play with their peers. We also teach and encourage autonomy, including clean-up after play and lunch.

We focus on traditional academic subjects such as reading, writing, math, and science as well as music, art, citizenship, and social skills.

Our flexible hours work with your busy schedule, including drop-offs and pick-ups. We work with you, not against you.

The Magnolia Pre-School is also a Screen-Free environment so children find stimulation in places other than on their phones and tablets.

Elementary School

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Elementary school at the Magnolia School augments and supports traditional academics with “learning to learn” skills, citizenship, and social skills.

We also take our students’ individual interests to heart, and integrate them into their curriculum whenever possible.

At the elementary level, we focus on reading, language arts, math, and writing, while also incorporating content subjects such as music and drama, science, social studies, history, and geography.

Students also begin understanding the importance of personal responsibility as they care for our school turtles, Tiny and Tippy

At the end of the year, students graduate and we party to celebrate their accomplishments.

Middle School education is unique to Magnolia School and we are the only private school in Bee Cave/Lakeway area to offer Middle School Curriculum.

Middle School at Magnolia School continues the foundation of academics established in elementary school, but also focuses on independence at this highly influenceable age. At this stage, we introduce homework to students as a learned skill.

Our mission for our middle school students is for them to leave middle school not only ready, but eager for high school and with a strong sense of social and intellectual confidence.
